Lots of memories in Tribe-Yankees matchup
Watching the Cleveland Indians play their final regular series ever this past week at Yankee Stadium sure stoked some emotional memories from this lifelong baseball fan.
The Indians Baseball Network (WKYC-TV and SportsTime Ohio) did a good job of showing highlights of past Indians-Yankee battles at the Stadium. There were video shots of young and skinny kids named Manny Ramirez and Jim Thome hitting their first major league homers in the Bronx. And then a young Latino switch-hitting second baseman named Baerga hitting two homers in one inning from opposite sides of the plate!
However, most of these TV memories came from the 1990s when the Yankees and Tribe were perennial contenders.
