Poobah makes a homecoming

Thanks to its annual appearances at Goldmine’s National Record Show, Poobah has played at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland more than any other band.

However, the psych rock band with Mahoning Valley roots hasn’t played in Warren for at least 20 years, according to frontman and founding member Jim Gustafson. That changes Saturday when the band headlines a show at the Boom Room in Warren.

Poobah has released 10 albums between 1972 and 2007, when its most recent CD "No Control" was issued. Some of those original slabs of vinyl from the ‘70s sell for hundreds of dollars to music collectors.

Gustafson, who now lives in West Virginia, said he is looking forward to making the trek back to the area. It’s All Been Done will open the 10 p.m. show. Admission is $5 at the door.
