| | Like a good pair of shoes ...May 29, 2009 - Frank RobinsonI never thought I would see the day when both Chrysler and GM were in bankruptcy court. That said, it has and is happening. I've owned GM and Chrysler products all my life. My first vehicle was an old rusty Chevy truck, '70 model if I remember correctly. Then I "moved up" to a Chevette. I have had Oldsmobiles, a GMC truck and some other assorted, mix-and-match rides. About 1995, I switched over to Chrysler. There was no particular reason, other than I had a brother-in-law who owned a Dodge dealership. That also was about the time the Dodge truck body styled changed, and I thought I would give one a try. I've been driving Dodge trucks ever since. I am convinced the American companies can make quality vehicles. I know because many of the vehicles I bought in my earlier years I purchased used. When you get a vehicle with about 100,000 miles on it and it still has some life left, that's a good sign. Many of the used vehicles I bought never let me down. They just got boring. I hope the two companies come out of the bankruptcy proceedings OK. I have become accustomed and comfortable with their products. In some ways, the cars and trucks they make are like a good, comfortable pair of shoes. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | |
