Star Lake celebrates 20th season

Post-Gazette Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, Pa., starts its 20th season Saturday with Coldplay (the show now has a 7 p.m. start time with the addition of opening acts Howling Bells and Pete Yorn).

In honor of the anniversary, the marketing staff released some stats and firsts for the venue:

* First Show -- Open House Rocker featuring Donnie Iris, Joe Grushecky and The Clarks - Sat, June 16, 1990.

* Most shows – Jimmy Buffett (25)

* Most tickets sold – Jimmy Buffett (550,000)

* Runner up for most tickets sold – Dave Matthews Band (about 370,000)

* Most sold-out shows in one season – 12 in 1998 (Dave Matthews Band x 2 shows, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ozzfest, Spice Girls, Metallica, Jimmy Buffett x 2 shows, Steve Miller Band, Shania Twain, Matchbox Twenty and Pearl Jam)

* Most shows in a year – 44 in both 1995 and 1996
