Rough weekend

Friday morning rang in beautiful, sunny and warm.

I immediately got up and had a good breakfast of tea, eggs, toast and fruit. After getting dressed, I went outside and started taking photos for the Wednesday garden feature.

But then while uploading the photos to my computer, I was hit with a wave of nausea that pretty much did me in for the rest of the day. I don’t know if it was the breakfast (I think I was trying to make up for my lack of fruit Thursday so I had about a cup and a half of mixed berries, sliced peaches and kiwi), or if I caught some sort of bug that didn’t hit me until I tried to put food on top of it.

My husband wasn’t feeling well the day before and I later found out that a few of my co-workers had a bout of stomach distress as well, so perhaps it was a bug.

Regardless, there wasn’t much to report in the way of food for the rest of Friday as I reported off sick and stayed in bed most of the day.

I felt better by the weekend, which was busy, doing errands and getting some much needed shopping accomplishe. I won’t try to catch up with photos, but I did manage to stay within a reasonable calorie count throughout those two days.

Monday sees me back at my desk, getting caught up from missing a day last week. It is always difficult to get caught up when a day is missed, but it somehow manages to get done.

My husband was up bright and early this morning to finish a woodworking project that has been keeping him busy. Thankfully, it is starting to reach its conclusion. So while he was making his coffee, he also made us both a quick breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast.

Since he did the cooking, I had the time to put together a small lunch of a PB&J on whole wheat bread with a fresh peach and some baked Goldfish crackers. I washed it all down with a Stewart’s diet root beer, something I haven’t had in a really long time so it was a treat.

I hope to hit the gym after work to make up for my listless, in spite of being busy, weekend. Stop back later for an update.
