| | The Chev: Worth the price of expensive waterJune 12, 2008 - Frank RobinsonI went to the Carrie Underwood concert Wednesday night. It turned out to be a decent event. Underwood's singing was a bit high-pitched for me. I prefer the type of music performed by her warm-up band, Jason Michale Carroll. But the entertainment factor was high. What I was most pleased with was the atmosphere. Yes, a few people were having adult beverages, but for the most part the audience was family oriented, supportive of the act on stage and civilized. It was mostly women and female tweenies. I've been to several events at the Chevrolet Centre, and have not been disappointed. Be it a hockey game or a concert, the atmosphere has been secure, the parking not-so-bad and the prices, except for the Underwood ticket and the price of concessions, reasonable and inviting. The only complaint I can bring up, and this is a stretch, is when I asked one of the concession workers at the Underwood concert for a plastic cup to get some water out of the fountain, she said no. That's understandable, since they want to sell me an overpriced bottle of water. Other than that, after watching several events there, I would recommend to anyone who asks to go there. It's an enjoyable venue, and there really isn't a bad seat in the place. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | |
