Carrie Underwood sells out Chevrolet Centre

The June 11 show is the fastest sellout in the venue’s history with all tickets sold within 48 hours. In a press release sent out this afternoon, Chevy Centre Executive Director Eric Ryan says, “This is a great event for The Chevrolet Centre and the city of Youngstown. Selling all available tickets in such a short period of time is a perfect way to show the concert industry that the Valley will support these major events.”

Of course the problem never was getting support for artists who have sold as many CDs (and sold them as recently) as Underwood. The problem is luring artists of that caliber to the venue instead of playing larger markets in nearby Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Underwood hit those cities on the first leg of her headlining tour, and she’s playing secondary markets like Toledo and Youngstown on her spring/summer tour.

There is a faint hope for procrastinating fans. According to the press release, a few tickets may be released to the box office the day of the show.
