Summer country concert schedules announced

January 24, 2014 - Andy Gray
Thursday’s column included some early announcements and some speculation about the summer concert season. One day later and the picture is more clear, at least on the country music side.

Both Blossom Music Center and First Niagara Pavilion released their 2014 Country Megaticket schedules this morning. And both mix one or two stadium shows into the amphitheater schedule.

The Cintas Country Megaticket include seven Blossom shows: Lady Antelbellum, Billy Currington and Joe Nichols on May 31; Tim McGraw and Cassadee Pope on June 8; Toby Keith on June 29; Rascal Flatts, Sheryl Crow and Gloriana on Aug. 1, Luke Bryan, Lee Brice and Cole Swindell on Aug. 21 and 22; and Dierks Bentley, Chris Young, Chase Rice and Jon Pardi on Sept. 26.

The package also covers Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line and Tyler Farr at Progressive Field (home of the Cleveland Indians) on July 18. Oddly, the act who had the date listed on her tour schedule (Miranda Lambert) is not on the bill in the official announcement.

There are three price levels for reserved seats for each megaticket --$825, $649 and $425 – and a $225 price for lawn seating at Blossom and a reserved seat for Aldean. The top ticket comes with preferred parking at Blossom. General parking is included at the other price levels. No parking is included for the stadium show.

The Baierl Truck Depot Country Megaticket includes five First Niagara dates: Brad Paisley, Leah Turner and Charlie Worsham on May 17; Tim McGraw, Kip Moore and Cassadee Pope on June 6; Toby Keith on Aug. 9; Lady Antebellum, Billy Currington and Joe Nichols on Aug. 23; and Rascal Flatts, Sheryl Crow and Gloriana on Sept. 6.

The package also covers two Heinz Field dates: Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Lee Brice and Cole Swindell on June 21 and Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line and Tyler Farr on July 26.

Same as Blossom, there are three price levels for reserved pavilion seating -- $799, $599 and $375 – and a $209 price for lawn seating at First Niagara and reserved seating for the stadium shows. VIP parking comes with the top price, and general parking at First Niagara is included at the other price levels. No parking is included for the stadium dates.

Megatickets for both locations will go on sale at 10 a.m. Jan. 31 exclusively at www.megaticket.com. Tickets will go on sale for the concerts individually at a later date.
