YSO joins EWF at Covelli Centre

Last summer the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra backed Barry Manilow at the Covelli Centre.

This year Youngstown’s “Shining Star” will join Earth, Wind & Fire for a June 10 concert at the arena.

The legendary R&B group had 15 top 40 hits on the pop chart and dozens more on the Billboard R&B chart in a career that spans 40 years. Some of those hits are “Sing a Song,” “Boogie Wonderland,” “September,” “After the Love Is Gone,” “Let’s Groove,” “Serpentine Fire” and “Shining Star.”

Tickets for the concert are $76, $56, $46 and $36 and go on sale at 10 a.m. March 23 through Ticketmaster.
