Red Hot Chili Peppers announce Cleveland, Pittsburgh shows

The Red Hot Chili Peppers, who will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year, bypassed the region when the first leg of its 2012 tour was announced.

The band announced a new slate of shows this morning, including a May 30 date at Pittsburgh’s Consol Energy Center and a June 2 show at Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena. Tickets for both concerts will go on sale Jan. 27.

Tickets prices haven’t been announced yet for either show, but tickets are priced around $40-$60 (before service fees) in the cities where the tour already is on sale.

It turns out this area will get a chance to see the band before those cities originally scheduled for the “first” leg of the tour. A foot injury suffered by lead singer Anthony Kiedis that required surgery pushed back the start of the tour until March 29, and some of the rescheduled dates have been moved to late summer and fall.
