Roger Waters rebuilding `The Wall’ in Pittsburgh

November 1, 2011 - Andy Gray
The recent cover story in Rolling Stone about Pink Floyd pretty much extinguished any hopes of a reunion tour in the near future, so Roger Waters will continue to go it alone.

After bringing his performance of the double album “The Wall” to Cleveland and Pittsburgh in 2010, Waters is planning a return visit in 2012, to Pittsburgh at least, on July 3.

Waters has talked about bringing the tour to stadiums next summer and said he’d done tests at such places as Fenway Park and Wrigley Field to see if it would work. That may be the plan in some markets, but Waters will keep the show indoors in Pittsburgh with a performance at Consol Energy Center.

The summer U.S. dates haven’t been posted to Waters’ website yet, and there’s no word on whether he also will return to Cleveland.

Tickets for the Pittsburgh show are $209, $104, $78.75 and $57.75 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. Nov. 14 through Live Nation and Ticketmaster. Waters does presales through his website for most tour dates, and it appears registration is free, so those who want to beat the rush might want to consider signing up.
