Wiz Khalifa returns to Covelli Centre

When Wiz Khalifa performed at the Covelli Centre in August 2010, the Pittsburgh rapper had a lot of underground buzz but not a lot of mainstream recognition.

Since then he’s had a number one single (“Black and Yellow”), his album “Rolling Papers” debuted at number two on the Billboard chart, he won a BET Award for Best New Artist and he’s nominated for an MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist Video. He even turns up in the tabloids occasionally for dating Kanye West’s ex, Amber Rose.

The now high-profile rap star returns to Youngstown for an indoor show at the arena at 8 p.m. Sept. 28. Tickets start at $29.50 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. Aug. 15 through Ticketmaster.
