A bit of my own forecasting
August 31, 2010 - Dana Sulonen
In today's Tribune, and in every Tuesday edition for the rest of football season, we will be naming a "Player of the Week." Simply put, we look at all of the performances over the weekend and pick the player that we feel is most deserving.
This week, the honor went to Newton Falls' Matt Brazin. Who will get it next week? Only time will tell.
Who do I think will get it? Now there lies the question. Just because I can, I have decided to make a weekly prediction here in the Playbook on who I think is going to be the next Tribune Player of the Week.
So ... drum roll please ... I believe that the Week 2 Player of the Week will be ... Mikhail Seawood, quarterback, from Warren G. Harding vs. the Chaney Cowboys.
Now, I hate to pick on Chaney, but the Cowboys are rebuilding and had a rough start to the season, losing to Austintown Fitch 58-7, while allowing 324 yards of total offense.
Seawood on the other hand, against a tough Shaw team, accumulated 290 total yards, 206 of them on the ground. If he did that against Shaw, imagine what he'll do against the Cowboys on Friday night at Mollenkopf Stadium.
I have a good feeling about this. I also had a good feeling about picking Mooney to be upset last week in the Fearless Football Forecast, and we all know that didn't go so well. So here's to hoping that this feeling is better than the other.
