| | The new Ohio license plateFebruary 11, 2010 - Frank RobinsonI have started noticing the new license plate that was rolled out recently. It's popping up on vehicles all over the place, and I still haven't decided whether or not I like it. It looks a little busy, but I give it an A for its bright coloring. It's got a lot of stuff crammed into it -- a plane (Wright Brothers), a barn and the skyline of a city. The green, blue and yellow combination works well, but the lettering at the top is too small and the graphic at the top at first makes it look like it is covering the first O in Ohio. While it is very colorful, you have to be very close to see any of the art elements. While driving, I don't want to get that close to the person in front of me to see it, and I hope the guy behind me feels the same way. The regular, plain license plate is still available. People can choose either one for the same price. That's the part I don't like. The cost almost doubled this year compared with last year. There is no license plate that looks good enough to make that taste good.
